What Brené Brown would post for Colorado Gives Day

With so much uncertainty, I wanted to find a way to add value to you, non-profit leaders. I figured I'd create these Weekly Emails I call Monday Motivational Minute because Mondays are historically the roughest days, and a minute . . . well because you're very busy people. In these, I'll add creative, quick, actionable takeaways for you to try (All in a minute read). No pressure, no need to respond, read at your leisure or unsubscribe if it doesn't add value.(Challenge Accepted ☺️)

Happy Colorado Gives Day, Week!
Speaking of, by now YOU'RE CLEARLY ASKING YOURSELF, "What would Brené Brown do if she had one last Hail Mary to throw on Colorado Gives Day?"
Lol, wait, don't roll your eyes, I promise I'm going somewhere with this randomness.
I've written quite a few virtual posts on LinkedIn and I'm about to share my super secret sauce with ONLY you, which I sincerely believe will get you more views AND more donations this Colorado Gives Day.
This is going to be tough, but if you do it, magic happens.
The secret is....... To be extremely vulnerable.
My most viral posts happen when I let my truth out, throw embarrassment and fear to the wind, and write from the bottom of my heart. I can't promise virality but I can promise a post that deepens trust and connection with the people most likely to give or share.
Imagine every polished, corporate-sounding nonprofit post gets ignored while scrolling. But the moment someone reads raw, honest vulnerability? They STOP. They feel. They share. They donate....Wouldn't you?
This may suck to hear but, people don't donate to missions, they donate to humans they connect with. Your vulnerability creates that connection faster than any statistics or glossy impact reports ever will.
Since you've been giving me amazing feedback about my prompts, here's one of my best ones yet, that will help you write the most raw and honest post you've ever shared about why people should donate to your organization:
Note: Share something real and vulnerable, but not something you would regret your board, staff, or clients reading later. What you did in Vegas that one time, can stay in Vegas 🫣
Actionable Task: Write Your Most vulnerable Post Ever, that would make Brene Brown cry of joy.
Step 1: Copy-paste this prompt into AI:
"I want you do be the best social media copywriter and write my most honest and most vulnerable social media post ever to get people to feel my words and donate to my organization for Colorado gives Day. I want it to sound humanly vulnerable and not like AI wrote it. I want it to be raw and honest about why [YOUR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION] has been so important to me (Your title), why I've poured so much into this organization, and why donations mean so much to me. And what's at risk if people don't donate. Keep it under 1,800 characters and make the first 6 words immediately attention grabbing. Use concrete details and honest emotion instead of polished nonprofit language.
Write a post that resonates with an audience that feels my passion, my why, and compels them to donate or share the post. Mention that the link to donate is in the comments.
But BEFORE you generate the post, ask me all the questions you need to write this post to pull the information you need from me to create the emotional triggers and bring my raw honest truth out. "
Step 2: Answer all the AI's questions honestly and please DON'T hold back. This only works if you risk putting it ALL on the table.
Step 3: (IMPORTANT) Edit it to sound exactly like how YOU talk. Please do NOT remove any part that seems "too vulnerable." You're letting the world see YOU.
Step 4: Post it with a picture of YOU. Has to be a picture of you that resonates with the post's emotion. (Social media algorithms LOVE this!)
Remember: You can't dip your toe into vulnerability and expect miracles. It demands full immersion; every fear, every flaw, every truth you've been hiding. That's not courage. That's the price of real connection.
Good Luck Colorado Gives Day! May your donor’s heart be big, and may their wallet share their hearts compassion ☺️🙏🏾
