To stray from our regularly scheduled programming, I wanted to complied the latest news in April that impacts you, wrapped in a one-minute email read; Let's jump in:

Local Colorado Updates (City/County Level)

  • Aurora Launches Investigation of migrant-serving nonprofits based on unsubstantiated claims that Governor Polis and Denver's mayor "smuggled migrants" into the city. Nonprofit leaders warn this creates safety risks for immigrant communities.

  • Village Exchange Center Lost $2M in Federal Funding for supporting undocumented immigrants. Now struggling to maintain food pantry serving 1,100 families weekly.

  • Increased ICE Enforcement reported, including large-scale raid in Colorado Springs (100 detentions) and fewer releases from detention facilities statewide.

Colorado State Policy Updates

  • SB 25-276 Advances with strong immigrant protections:
